Frequently Asked questions
Q. What should I do if I don't meet the requirements for the pathway?
A. The only reason your application would not be accepted is if you are not on track for graduation. Meet with your counselor and make arrangements to make up your deficient credits as soon as possible! Your pathway coordinator can also help you get back on track. Once you address those academic issues, we'd love to have you join our pathway!
Q. My career or personal interests don't seem to fit into any of the pathways. Is there anything I can do?
A. Pathways are for everyone. Meet with one of the pathway coordinators and we will steer you in the right direction and find a place for you.
Q. Can I do projects in more than one pathway or area of emphasis?
A. Yes! As long as you meet the requirements for each pathway, you can do multiple projects. Choose from separate pathways or different areas of emphasis within a pathway.
Q. Can I do my project before senior year?
A. The earliest you can start on a project is the summer before your senior year. If a project will take more than one year, you can start early as long as the project continues into and concludes during your senior year.
Q. How do I choose a mentor?
A. You may either choose a teacher at our school who has expertise in your chosen area of emphasis or an adult from the community. Your mentor will meet with you periodically and help you complete your project. They will also be invited to present your cord at our ceremony at the end of the year. Your parents must approve your mentor!
Q. What kinds of things can I do for my project?
A. Basically, the sky is the limit! Visit the senior project page to get some ideas.
